Description

The first free, tax-supported library in North Carolina, founded in 1898. Inaugurated NC’s first bookmobile in 1923. Now has more than 400,000 volumes in nine branches, serving 975,000-plus patrons annually. Highest per capita student/child use in state. Open M-Th, 9am-9pm; F, 9am-6pm; Sa, 9:30am-6pm; Su, Aug-May), 2-6pm.
